Why community service?
Howard Terry once said that creating the Terry Foundation was the most important thing he had done in his life as it allowed him "to help more people than I [Mr. Terry] could have ever done otherwise." As UH Terry Scholars we honor Mr. Terry's legacy of giving back to our community by participating in a variety of service projects as well as our annual Statewide Fundraiser and Service Project. Some of our past projects include the Houston Food Bank, The Last Organic Outpost, American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, and the HOPE Collaborative Project. The 2017 - 2018 academic year is especially important for community service as it is the 30th anniversary of the Terry Foundation. Stay tuned for more information about our upcoming service projects and how you can participate in helping your community!
