The University of Houston joined the Terry family in 2004 and became the 4th university to partner with the Terry Foundation. Since its affiliation, there have been a total of 311 Terry Scholars at UH which is the largest number of scholars at one university after the original Terry universities, The University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University. There are currently 129 UH Terry Scholars, Traditional and Transfer, studying a variety of disciplines: Biology, Education, Business, Fine Arts, Engineering, Computer Science, and Communications. The UH Terry Scholars have taken full advantage of the Terry Foundation's generous study abroad stipends and have studied and conducted research in Spain, Norway, the United Kingdom, Italy, China, Mexico, the Galapagos Islands, and many more countries.
